So last week I got the opportunity with work to visit SanDiego, California with a couple of colleagues. Flying into Los Angeles (LAX) we drove the 120 miles from LA to San Diego. Arriving into SanDiego on Saturday evening we checked into the Double Tree, Del Mar. The 12 hour flight from London plus the 3 hour drive and 8 hour time difference wiped us out. Needless to say it wasn’t a late night that night.
Work was the main focus of the week but we did get to see a little of San Diego. Out of what we saw here are my recommendations.
Balboa park is not only home of the world famous San Diego Zoo, but it also has a wide number of attractions including a Space Museum, Sports Centre and a selection of outdoor theatres. It is a nice scenic walk with some great views over downtown San Diego. There is plenty of parking at the park and some wide open spaces to play games. Its seems the go to park for dog walking in the area.
USS Midway Aircraft Carrier, San Diego
The USS Midway id a US aircraft carrier and was once the largest ship in the world. She served in both the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm. She was decommissioned in 1992 and is now a museum ship, docked in San Diego Bay, California.
