Only Fools and Horses

Only Fools and Horses Rare Harty Christmas Special (1983)

So I thought I had seen all the lost clips, unbroadcasted episodes and bloopers. But I have stumbled across a rare clip from the Harty Christmas Special (1983). It was filmed about a year before Lennard Pearce (Grandad) died. The Only Fools and Horses Rare Harty Christmas Special was filmed as part of Russell Harty’s Christmas special in 1983. It was filmed in London’s Reenwood Theatre.

Without giving away any spoilers, in the 5 minute long sketch, Del boy lets Rodney and Granded know why they’re at the event.

Only Fools and Horses Filming Locations – Healthy Competition

In Healthy Competition, young Rodney decides it’s time to go it alone. He breaks up his partnership with del boy and teams up with Mickey Pearce to start trading on their own. As expected, it does not all go to plan.

The opening scenes of the episode starts with Del Boy selling some windup puppy toys outside a department store. Rodney is on watch, but isn’t doing a very good job at it and Del Boy almost gets collared by the police.

The Only Fools and Horses Filming Location for the opening scene was:

Randalls Department Store which has since closed on the 31st Jan 2015.

Only Fools and Horses Convention 2016

So this weekend it is the Only Fools and Horses convention 2016 in London. Unfortunately I am not heading there this year. This years format is different from previous years Only Fools and Horses convention. It will be interesting to see how it goes and get peoples feedback from those who are lucky enough to be going.

The last time I went was a few years ago it was an excellent experience, but the queue was long to meet the actors. We started queueing at around 11am and met the actors not far of 7pm. The structure could definitely do with a change so I hope this year goes well.

Saying that the people that organise and work on the day/s of the convention are amazing. They put so much effort into making sure the day goes as smoothly as possible. From the cast of the show, Perry and his friends for the organisation, the volunteers who help make it a special event and of course the cast who are there signing for hours on end.

It would be great to maybe see David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst there one year. Saying that I am sure the tickets would go in seconds if they were attending.

So jealous of all of you going to the Only Fools and Horses Convention 2016 this weekend, enjoy yourselves and I would love to hear your feedback on this years structure.
